Support Care

First-level direct care position accountable for assisting clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks. Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; and reports on the condition of clients. May perform internal environment of care checks or perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting. Positions may also be responsible for passing medications (as medication aide).

This is a second-level direct care position which may function as a lead worker. Accountable for assisting clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks. Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; reports on the condition of clients; and participates in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers.  May be accountable for preparing, administering, and charting medication under the direction of a professional nurse, as a Certified Medication Technician. May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting.  May function as a Restorative Nursing Assistant.

Accountable for assisting clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks. Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; and reports on the condition of clients. May perform internal environment of care checks or perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting. Oversees work of other support staff.  Communicates with doctors, clients, and families, and educates clients on care. May provide transport to offsite appointments and application of restraints, when necessary. May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting.

This is a professional-level position accountable for developing, implementing, and monitoring habilitation programs and positive behavior supports for clients with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team in developing and reviewing individualized habilitation plans. May supervise and monitor the work of direct care staff. 

This is a professional supervisory position accountable for professional program planning and management for a treatment sub-unit or multiple residential locations. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates individual habilitation and/or treatment plans for clients with developmental disabilities. Supervises professional and/or direct care staff.

This is a managerial position accountable for the administrative management of a treatment unit.  Responsible for setting work schedules, delegating assignments, assigning tasks, and evaluating employee performance. Also accountable for establishing employee policies and procedures, and supervising professional staff.
