Employees at this level serve as technical experts and representatives and apply knowledge and judgment as technical experts in the field and/or assist in laboratory compliance with quality management systems, federal and/or state regulations, and inform policy and provide expert advice on national committees. Employees design and implement validation studies and tests, troubleshoot and maintain equipment, analyze data, and write reports. Employees may also function as a lead worker and train or supervise lower-level positions.
In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures. Skill in the operation of laboratory equipment. Ability to prepare comprehensive and detailed laboratory activity reports.
Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
