Senior Business Analyst

General summary

This is a senior-level professional position accountable for determining business needs and translating into functional specifications. Defines systems scope, objectives, and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes. Provides the basis for the design or modification of information systems through business analysis and documents requirements. Typically assigned work on more complex, larger, and higher impact/risk projects/systems. Will typically design/devise more optimal systems and processes based on broader experience.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous level: Skill in outlining project scope, objectives, and functionality. Skill in translating business processes into information technology requirements. Ability to assess situations, including risks and benefits, receive feedback from stakeholders, and select a course of action.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
