General summary

This is a supervisory/managerial position accountable for setting the tone and vision with responsibility for the overall management of an assigned unit, including the supervision of both professional and vocational staff; and/or assisting a manager in a larger facility/program. At this level, employees supervise and may perform the activities overseen, in addition to overseeing development and administering case plans, maintaining professional contacts for the unit, coordinating with the field (e.g., case management), managing a facility/program budget, and providing input into programming.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and program administration. Knowledge of the principles and practices of budgeting, fiscal administration, procurement, and inventory control.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of youth treatment experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
