General summary

This is a professional position responsible for conducting a rehabilitative program of recreation and related outdoor skills activities for youth committed to custody; or case management functions and determining needed services for stakeholders; developing, administering, and overseeing treatment plans for youth; and preparing documents for administrative review panels and courts.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of the Missouri Juvenile Court System. Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques of supervision. Knowledge of outdoor program activities. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and emergency treatment procedures. Knowledge of the techniques, methods, and goals of rehabilitative therapy.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of youth treatment experience and/or relevant certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
