This is an advanced vocational position accountable for maintaining specialized accounting record systems including resolving errors, balancing accounts and records, and preparing reports. Employees also help accounting staff solve technical issues. At this level, employees monitor and provide information about a variety of fiscal areas (e.g. grants, budgets, benefits, etc.) and analyze transactions to determine if complex accounting entries are accurate. Incumbents are also accountable for reviewing and processing complicated or contested transactions (e.g. payroll, accounts receivable/payable, travel expenses, collections, etc.).
In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Skill in using automated financial systems. Ability to apply accounting principles and practices to varied levels of accounting transactions. Ability to mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff.
3-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
