First-level professional program position accountable for obtaining and verifying information from incarcerated adult offenders. Evaluates offenders’ institutional adjustment, attitudes toward society, and release plans. Positions at this level also prepare reports on incarcerated offenders and make recommendations relative to job assignments, facility transfers, and disciplinary actions.
For supervisor positions: Accountable for managing a complex offender records operation. Supervises staff involved in maintaining a variety of documentation including sentencing and judgment information; offender identification; and reports involving offender movement, release, and violations.
In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of interviewing techniques, principles of offender classification, and general methods of social casework and correctional case management. Skill in handling offender behaviors. Ability to communicate effectively.
Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience or 4-6 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
