This is a first-level veterinarian position accountable for managing and coordinating a variety of programs involving the care of livestock or companion animals, or exercising statewide responsibility for a more narrowly focused effort. Work involves the inspection of livestock markets, slaughter establishments, and poultry and animal care facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations.
Knowledge of methods used to control the spread of contagious and infectious diseases in livestock and poultry. Ability to transport livestock-handling equipment. Working in adverse weather conditions may be required. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.
Graduation from an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine.
