General summary

This is a managerial security position accountable for supervisory and administrative work directing the operations of a multifaceted security program for a state facility or office building complex. Directs total security operations in a state facility or office building complex with significant scope and substantial security needs. Accountable for training, supervising, and evaluating security staff; developing and directing continuous in-service training programs. Reviews and evaluates staff reports; provides advice and assistance to improve effectiveness and clarity of reports.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of laws and statues as they apply to security operations in a state facility. Ability to plan, develop, implement, and maintain a multifaceted security program.

Typical qualifications

5 or more years of relevant experience and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
