Probation and Parole Regional Administrator

General summary

Positions at this level provide oversight of the operations of assigned regional parole/probation offices through subordinate supervision and/or professional level staff. Administration involves operational responsibilities for the assigned region (e.g., coordinate parole/probation activities across all relevant criminal justice areas and agencies, warrant management, build relationships and collaborate with various resource partners to develop an effective program of services and resources and to work on special projects; contract management, budget management), policy and procedure management/development, resource allocation, and budget administration. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of law and regulations of probation and parole in Missouri and other states. Ability to drive the vision and strategy that motivates others to action, the ability to take a broad view of issues and future possibilities and translate that into breakthrough strategies, and evaluate risks and benefits of different solution options.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
