General summary

This is a second-level Capitol Police position accountable for patrolling the building and grounds of State office buildings and properties. Provides security for the Governor and family, elected officials, state employees, and the general public. Responds to and investigates crimes and accidents within Capitol complex boundaries and conducts investigations independently or in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies. May lead a team of officers in the absence of lead officer.

In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of law enforcement techniques. Ability to make decisions independently and carry out an effective course of action. 

Typical qualifications

Possession of a Peace Officer license and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
