This is a seasoned commissioned investigator, requiring status as a sworn police officer that leads investigations and oversees activities of professional investigators from agency or other law enforcement entities in complex investigations. The activities required for these investigations are larger in number, of a wider diversity, or in a specialized area. At this level, duties involve performing custodial arrest, executing the legal process, providing testimony in court or at hearings, attending ongoing training.
In addition to those identified in the previous level: Ability to plan and schedule work activities to achieve established goals.
Bachelor’s degree, 2 or more years of relevant experience, and relevant certification/licensure including Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
