This is a supervisory position accountable for overseeing the work of court reporters. An employee at this level plans, performs, and coordinates reporting and transcription of formal administrative hearings. Responsibilities include assigning court reporters to cover proceedings, reviewing cases, and deciding on proper methods of handling and processing. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform, monitor, and review the work overseen.
In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of the Missouri Supreme Court rules related to court reporting and preparation of transcripts. Knowledge of office management and record-keeping procedures. Knowledge of the principles of supervision and training. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Current certification as a court reporter and 3 or more years of relevant experience.
