Human Resources Program Coordinator

General summary

This is a professional human resources position typically accountable for supervising a team of professionals who provide human resources consultative and advisory services in statewide program areas such as recruitment and selection, training and development, classification and compensation, employee engagement, human resources information systems (HRIS), labor relations, and/or workforce planning. Position incumbents assist in the development and management of statewide programs, policies, procedures, rules, and action plans for implementation in designated areas. Incumbents are accountable for providing expert advice and counsel to agency human resources staff in the designated program areas and resolving agency issues in a manner which provides statewide consistency of practice.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of legislative, executive, and judicial processes. Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of policy development. Ability to supervise professional staff and oversee human resources projects and/or programs.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
