General summary

This is a supervisory position accountable for supervising employees and overseeing and monitoring grant activities for compliance with applicable statutes, policies, and procedures. Grants Supervisors draft grant applications and assist in determining grant compatibility with agency objectives and strategic plans. Employees have input into setting and staying within an assigned budget. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Additionally, these incumbents must have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.  

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of program compliance review techniques. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective supervision and training. Ability to provide direction to professional staff engaged in grant activities. Ability to monitor budgets and financial reporting.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
