Associate Geologist

General summary

This is a professional position that performs work involving various phases and sub-disciplines of geology. Work involves the evaluation, protection, and promotion of natural resources; conducting geologic field investigations/examinations; providing technical support; identifying potential problem areas/issues; and contributing to developing solutions. At this level, work performed may be under the full professional responsibility and oversight of a supervising registered professional geologist in responsible charge.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of current principles, practices, policies, procedures, minimum standards, and regulations related to geology. Ability to conduct geologic investigations and prepare corresponding reports.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
