This is a licensed professional position accountable for helping in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. Employees assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans through evaluating patients, recommending or administering therapy, preparing case histories, documenting progress notes, and assisting families and teachers of individuals with speech and hearing problems. Works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with periodic review of work methods, reports, and processes.
Knowledge of the various types of speech, language, and hearing disorders. Knowledge of the normal development of speech, language and hearing abilities; and the effect of degenerative processes. Ability to prepare case histories, progress reports, and recommendations. Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate a basic therapy plan.
Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
